Simple Snack Mix (my kids favorite school snack)

trailmix

This is one of those posts that’s more like and idea than a recipe, kind of like one of the first few posts I did for Mexican Rice Bowls.  I wasn’t going to post this because of the simplicity, but I figured why not? I am always trying to think of healthy snacks for my kids that don’t cost a lot and are simple to make- so I am sure there are a lot of others out there who have the same issue. One day I just threw this together and it quickly became a favorite…not just for the kids because my husband and I love it too! (I am the crazy one who has to have a peanut, raisin and chocolate chip in every bite- it’s just a great combo lol)

Honestly- the only ingredients we put in this are usually peanuts, chocolate chips and raisins or dried cranberries. I am sure you could throw whatever you like in….. maybe some flaked coconut, dried mango, banana chips, pumpkin seeds or pretzels, just to name a few. The whole idea is to make a large batch of mix and have it to pull from for a school (or anytime) snack.  It takes only a minute and is way cheaper than buying the pre-made stuff, plus you know the quality of ingredients you are using. I hope this has given you an idea for a mix you will love or see below for the “recipe” for the one we love!
